Meeting Grandma Bowen.
There were7 babies in our group, 3 from Katie's orphanage. Before babies were handed out, Katie was standing near the front with her nanny. I was videotaping like a madwoman to try to capture the experience for Brad. While taping the babies, Katie's caregiver pointed to me and said mama. That's your mama. She must have recognized me from the photo album that we sent for Katie, as there were still several families to receive there babies. It was an amazing moment to realize that I was looking at my daughter. I remember the first time I saw Alex after he was born, and now this moment of this day is filed in my memory. Amazing day. Amazing baby.To say that today has been quite a day is an understatement. I'm still in a bit if a fog, and expect that will continue for awhile. We traveled to Nanchang, had about 45 min. in our hotel room, then boarded a bus for the Registration Office about 5 minutes away. I think photos will tell the story well, plus I'm just so tired from walking a crying baby all afternoon that I want to get this done and go to bed. More philosphical thoughts on motherhood in China after I've slept.
She is the most beautiful little girl I've ever need, and that is without a bit of mommy bias. :-)
While I type, Katie is quietly playing in her crib having woke up from a (late) nap. Hopefully a bottle will coax her to sleep soon.

Omigosh! She's a doll! As I said in my email, I was awake around the time you were getting Katie(unintentionally, I can assure you!) and thinking about you. Olivia is sitting on my lap admiring these terrific photos, repeating "Katie" after me. We can't wait to meet her! You look radiant, Lori! Get some sleep and let that adoring Grandma take care of your little angel!

She is beautiful Lori, and you look so happy. Seeing the pictures of you and Katie on gotcha day makes me think of the day I got Paige, and of course I get a bit teary-eyed. I can't wait to meet her in person. Enjoy the rest of your trip, it goes by quicker than you think.

Finally figured out how to drop you all a line...She is such a beautiful little sweetie..we can hardly wait until the 3rd. We are having a great time with Alex and Dad...both are doing fine. We plan to keep them busy until your return home. I made copies of the pictures and gave one set to Great-Grandpa and grandma..they are thrilled also. Give her a big kiss and hug from us.
